Master Buck Grant Makes mma history

On May 17th, 2013 Ajarn Buck Grant helped usher in a new era by sanctioning the first legal MMA fights in New York. The event, called Victory MMA, was held at the Terminal 5 in the heart of the big city and showcased 9 amateur fights. Ajarn Buck, had the honors of refereeing the very first fight of the night.

He feels honored to be a part of history as a referee with the WKA (World Kickboxing Association) which has been instrumental in lobbying for MMA in New York, which has been illegal up until this point.

Master Buck Grant has been involved with the WKA for over a decade now. He has served as the assistant coach of ring sports for the USA team since 2003, when he took rookie fighter, now UFC veteran, Brandon “The Truth” Vera to his first World championships. He has since served as both coach and official at the world class level in countries such as Thailand, Scotland, Germany, Italy, and of course the United States.

Special thanks goes to Brian Crenshaw, the President of the WKA USA who has tirelessly fought to legalize MMA to The Big Apple. Ajarn Buck has proudly worked by his side since 2003 to provide a professional staff of dedicated and passionate officials for MMA, Muay Thai and Grappling.

Master Buck Grant will be returning to New York to officiate in 3 New York events in June, one of which will be Golden MMA, the first legally sanctioned MMA fight in Queens New York.
